Post office abides by unoffical motto: Neither snow nor rain

By Robert Morales —

There was a fair amount of panic at The Van Horn Advocate when the power went out around 9:30 a.m. yesterday. Although the deadline to submit the paper for printing is later in the day, we’ve been through this before. Accoring to Eddie Gutierrez from El Paso Electric Public Relations, the Alamo Substation located near Ft. Hancock suffered some problems, causing about 3,680 customers to be without electricity in Van Horn, Ft. Hancock and Sierra Blanca.

The issue was resolved within the hour.
