Greg Salcido is a Class of 1990 graduate of Van Horn High School. His parents are Luis and Lidia Salcido. While in high school, his last name was Gomez, which he later changed to take on his step-father’s last name.
Greg was class valedictorian and participated in numerous UIL activities, football and track and field. He attended the University of Texas at Austin on a full academic scholarship, from where he graduated in 1995 with both a Bachelor in Business Administration with a major in Accounting and a Master in Professional Accounting.

He went to work for Arthur Andersen in Dallas, where he worked in the audit division supporting clients in the manufacturing and consumer packaged goods industries.
He left public accounting in 1999 and moved in to a strategic finance role with Dr Pepper/Seven Up, Inc. (now known as Dr Pepper Snapple Group, Inc.).
During his time there, Greg developed a taste for financial planning and analysis and held several senior management roles within the company until he left in 2008 to pursue more entrepreneurial ventures.
After a successful consulting practice, Greg went on to hold executive roles in finance with both large and small companies in the manufacturing / consumer-packaged goods, logistics and technology industries.
He also bought and sold a small services company, which was an exciting opportunity for Greg to truly “work for himself.†He currently works for a small technology company, where he leads their financial planning and treasury functions.
Greg lives in Frisco, Texas with his wife, Jessica and their sons, Noah (15 years old) and Luke (10 months old). He strives to preserve a healthy work /life balance and subscribes to the “work hard, play hard†approach to his professional career.
While he has had many successes in his professional career, his biggest success is his family. Greg enjoys traveling with his family, cheering on the Dallas Cowboys and attending other local sporting events in the Dallas metroplex. He is an avid golfer and having “retired†from flag football and softball a few years ago, he now focuses his competitive spirit on lowering his golf handicap.
While Greg’s surroundings today are significantly different from the Guadalupe Mountains where he grew up, Greg has never forgotten where he is from, and he has used those experiences to help him appreciate all that he has accomplished, both professionally and personally.
