Where are they now?

Editor’s note: This feature is dedicated to profiling Van Horn High School Alumni and updating locals on what became of them after graduation.  The Advocate welcomes information for publication on VHHS Alumni and will try to highlight two Van Horn Eagles every week.

Chasity Reyes Sanchez,

Chasity Reyes Sanchez, daughter of Ray Reyes and Deborah Villegas, graduated from Van Horn High School in 1995 and participated in several extracurricular activities, such as band and student council.  It was in Van Horn where she met her husband, Luie Sanchez, who is also a Van Horn graduate.  Upon graduating, Chasity and Luie moved to Weatherford, TX, where she continued her education at Weatherford College.  The struggles of living away from home, attending college, and raising her first born, Derek, were tough but so rewarding.  Through the next several years she moved from Weatherford to Eastland and ended up in Midland, TX, where she currently lives with her husband, and two sons, Derek and Tre.

Chasity obtained her property, casualty and health insurance license and became and employee for Allstate Insurance Company.  During the next several years she became an active parishioner at St. Stephen’s Catholic Church in Midland, TX.  Ten years ago she received an opportunity to work for the oil industry and is currently a Senior Drilling Engineering Technician for Concho Resources Inc., an independent exploration and production company, engaged in the acquisition, development and exploration of oil and natural gas properties.

Chasity also voluntarily serves as the secretary for the IADD Permian Chapter.  The International Association of Directional Drilling (IADD) is a 501(c)(6) not-for-profit organization dedicated to promoting directional drilling, as well as advancing the technology, competence and knowledge of its members. IADD is also focused on helping the industry develop standards that will ensure the safest and most effective directional drilling operations.

Her biggest accomplishment is being a mother to her two sons, Derek and Tre.  Derek is a senior at Texas Tech University and Tre will be graduating from Midland Lee High School this June.

Chasity credits her success to her husband, family, friends and above all, God.
