Culberson County EMS in training

Seven Culberson Hospital EMS staff attended a weeklong training session in El Paso last week. The training was part of a program in conjunction with the U.S. Border Patrol Search Trauma and Rescue, (BORSTAR), in El Paso. The local team was trained in various rescue techniques including repelling from steep slopes, rope rescue and special knot tying. A second group of Culberson County program EMS will be training this week on BORSTAR. The team is looking forward to providing advanced search and rescue skills for not only this county, but the surrounding areas.
