Where Are They Now? – Angel Harper

After graduating from Van Horn High School in 1990 I worked as a park ranger at Guadalupe Mountains National Park. I received my certification in Law Enforcement for the National Park Service from Texas Southmost College in Brownsville Texas during this time.

Deciding to get a degree, I attended Sul Ross and later transferred to UTPB. During my time in college I worked for The Girl Scouts of the Permian Basin as a Water Safety Instructor and worked at the Founder’s Theatre at UTPB building sets and acting. I graduated from UTPB in 2001 with a BA in English.

After teaching in the Odessa ISD for several years, I relocated to San Angelo. I taught at San Angelo Christian Academy and gave private lessons before going to work for Tom Green County. I have worked for Tom Green County for over 5 years and am currently the Crime Analyst Tech in the DA’s office.

I enjoy meeting friends for lunch, movies, playing computer games, and reading. Staying close to family and friends is important to me. While I haven’t been back to Van Horn in a while, it holds a special place in my heart and West Texas will always be my home.
