The Valentine Junior High Lady Pirates travelled to Marfa on Tuesday afternoon, September 27th where they matched up once again with the 7th grade Lady Longhorns from Buena Vista. The Pirates had defeated the Lady Longhorns last week when the met them in Balmorhea in two games. They were not as successful this time as they fell to the Longhorns by scores of 25 to 21 in the first game and 25 to 15 in the second game.
The young Pirates continue to improve in every aspect of the game. They are working hard in practice and are playing with a great deal of pride and enthusiasm. The community is doing a great job of following the team and supporting them as they are on the road for the rest of the year.
They will be in Buena Vista next Tuesday, October 4th to meet the Longhorns for a third time. They will close out the year on the road to Grandfalls on the 18th of October and will then be headed to Wink on the 25th to finish the year.
