Valentine ISD academic students and athletes were busy over the weekend. Ms. Karen Brownfield took senior, Jaci Garcia and sophomore Evan Hall to McCamey on Saturday, January 28th to participate in the McCamey Invitational Academic Meet. These young ladies were competing against students from Crane, Wink, Kermit, Pecos, Alpine, Van Horn, Big Spring, Odessa High, and Permian along with a few Class A schools.
Jaci Garcia came home with the gold medal in Current Events and the silver in Social Studies. Jaci represented the district last year at regional in Current Events. Evan Hall won the gold in Prose Interpretation. Ms. Brownfield has these two young ladies scheduled to attend a few more invitational meets in the coming weeks before district competition in March.
