The Eagle Golf teams competed in the District round on Monday in Monahans. They came out ready for a battle and fought until the very end. Seniors, Rafael Rodriguez and Roman Rocha kept their composure and clinched the top medalist spots. They will be advancing to the Regional Tournament. They will compete individually for their tickets to State! Congrats to Rafael Rodriguez for placing 2nd overall in the entire district!
The girl’s team came out strong and fought for every stroke. They made history as the first ever girl’s team to win the District Title and advance to the Regional Tournament. The team, composed of only four girls, two Freshmen, Annika Corrales and Jadyn Corrales, one Junior, Justice Santa Cruz and anchored by Senior, Lezlie Jones, put up an amazing fight today. Collectively, their short game was on and they stayed focused for the duration of the round. They were mentally prepared for Monday’s round and will continue to keep their focus. Well done to Lezlie Jones for placing 2nd overall and for her excellent leadership on the team. Congratulations Eagles!! On to Regionals we go!
