Obituaries – Juana Rangel

Juana Rangel, a loving, caring and patient wife, mother, grandmother, great-mother, and friend entered into eternal rest on April 29 surrounded by her loving family, she was 69.

Juana was born on May 29, 1947 to Eutimio Gonzales, and Maria Tarango Gonzales in Los Fresnos, Chihuahua, Mexico.  Juana later met and married the love of her life Israel Rangel.  Juana was a homemaker and enjoyed and cherished taking care of her family and watching them grow, and mature into fine men and women.

Rosary for Juana was recited by Sister Margie on Thursday, May 4 at 7:00 pm at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Valentine.  Mass of Christian Burial was held on Friday, May 5 at 11:00 pm with Father Esteban Sescon serving as Celebrant.  Burial followed at Valentine Cemetery.

Honoring Juana for one last time by serving as pallbearers: Omar Rangel, Daniel Rangel, Enrique Navarrete, Alex Rangel, Antonio Rangel, Demetrio Navarrete, Angel Rangel, and Serjio Rangel, Jr.

Juana loved to sing, in which she had a beautiful gift of being able to harmonize to any song that she might hear.  Juana enjoyed making clothing for her children, for those who also needed something made, as well as being an excellent seamstress, Juana had a great love for crocheting.  Juana’s greatest love and passion was being around her grandchildren and great grandchildren making special memories with them and watching them grow up.

Preceding Juana in death are her parents Eutimio and Maria Gonzales, her sister Jovita Pado, her granddaughter Nina Adriana Rangel, and grandson Nino Jose David Rangel.

Those left to cherish and honor the memory of Juan are her husband Israel Rangel of Valentine; her son’s Juan Rangel of Lubbock, Serjio Rangel of Barstow, Israel Rangel, Jr., and Arnoldo Rangel both of Valentine; her daughter Letty R. Navarrete of Valentine; her brothers Jose Luis Gonzales, Hector Gonzales, Damacio Gonzales, Martin Gonzales, Israel Gonzales, and Alfredo Gonzales all of Andrews; her sisters Maria Nieves Sanchez of Bulington, Co., Maria Elena Carrasco of Valentine, Rosa Gonzales, Yolanda Gonzales, and Teresa Gonzales of Wheeler. As well as grandchildren and great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

The Rangel family entrusted Heritage Funeral Home of Van Horn, Texas with funeral arrangements.
