Juana Rangel, a loving, caring and patient wife, mother, grandmother, great-mother, and friend entered into eternal rest on April 29 surrounded by her loving family, she was 69.
Juana was born on May 29, 1947 to Eutimio Gonzales, and Maria Tarango Gonzales in Los Fresnos, Chihuahua, Mexico. Juana later met and married the love of her life Israel Rangel. Juana was a homemaker and enjoyed and cherished taking care of her family and watching them grow, and mature into fine men and women.
Rosary for Juana was recited by Diana Ortiz on Thursday, May 4 at 7:00 pm at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Valentine. Mass of Christian Burial was held on Friday, May 5 at 11:00 pm with Father Esteban Sescon serving as Celebrant. Burial followed at Valentine Cemetery.
Honoring Juana for one last time by serving as pallbearers: Omar Rangel, Daniel Rangel, Enrique Navarrete, Alex Rangel, Antonio Rangel, Demetrio Navarrete, Angel Rangel, and Serjio Rangel, Jr.
Juana loved to sing, in which she had a beautiful gift of being able to harmonize to any song that she might hear. Juana enjoyed making clothing for her children, for those who also needed something made, as well as being an excellent seamstress, Juana had a great love for crocheting. Juana’s greatest love and passion was being around her grandchildren and great grandchildren making special memories with them and watching them grow up.
Preceding Juana in death are her parents Eutimio and Maria Gonzales, her sister Jovita Pando, her granddaughter Niña Adriana Rangel, and grandson Niño Jose David Rangel.
Those left to cherish and honor the memory of Juana are her husband Israel Rangel of Valentine; her sons Juan Rangel of Lubbock, Serjio Rangel of Barstow, Israel Rangel, Jr. of Andrews; Arnoldo Rangel of Valentine; her daughter Letty R. Navarrete of Valentine; her brothers Jose Luis Gonzales, Hector Gonzales, Damacio Gonzales, Martin Gonzales, Ismael Gonzales, and Alfredo Gonzales all of Andrews; her sisters Maria Nieves Sanchez of Burlington, Co., Maria Elena Carrasco of Valentine, Rosa Gonzales, Yolanda Gonzales of Andrews; and Teresa Gonzales of Wheeler. As well as grandchildren and great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

Mr. Fred Holguin Campos
Mr. Fred Holguin Campos of Van Horn, Texas passed away peacefully on Sunday, May 7th, 2017 at an El Paso hospital, he was 79.
Mr. Campos was born on June 20th, 1937 to Ignacio Campos and Eulalia Holguin Campos in Marfa, Texas. At the age of 13, he and his family moved to Van Horn, Texas
Visitation was held on Wednesday, May 10th, 2017 at Heritage Funeral Home, funeral service was held on Thursday, May 11th, 2017 at Van Horn United Methodist Church, with Pastor Jerry Donovan officiating. Military graveside service presented by The United States Army followed at Van Horn Cemetery.
Those honored to serve as pallbearer for Mr. Campos where: Abel Fierro, Bill Fierro, Herman Fierro, Freddy “Pretty” Martinez, David Onate, and Jose Martinez. Honoring Mr. Campos by serving as honorary pallbearer where: Ismael “Simile” Villalobos.
Mr. Campos served in United States Army 82nd Airborne as a paratrooper. Mr. Campos was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars and The American Legion. He worked for the Texas Highway Department until his retirement. During his retirement, he enjoyed traveling seeing such sights, as the Grand Canyon, The Statue of Liberty, the sights and sounds of California, Oregon, and Mexico.
Mr. Campos had a very funny humor and loved to tell jokes all the time, as well as he was very composite and friendly. Mr. Campos enjoyed gardening and working on old cars. Two cars that he enjoyed owning and working on was a Chevy Impala and his 1937 Ford pickup.
Mr. Campos is preceded in death by his parents, his companion of many years Cristina Tarin, and his brother Robert Onate.
Those left to cherish his memory are: his daughter Norma Campos of El Paso, Texas; his grandson Freddy “Pretty” Martinez of New York, New York, his two granddaughters: Tracy Fenix of New York, New York, and Alyssa Chandelle of Austin, Texas. As well as many friends of Mr. Campos.

Virginia Watts
Virginia (Ginny) Watts left this earth to be with her Lord on May 2 in Houston. She was 89 years old. Ginny was born on October 13, 1927 in Amarillo. She grew-up in San Antonio and Marfa where she met and married her beloved husband Jack. She lived in Van Horn over 60 years before moving to Houston in 2015.
Ginny was the Society Editor for the Van Horn Advocate for many years and a homemaker. She was an active member of the First Baptist Church in Van Horn and was devoted to God, her family, and her church.
Ginny was preceded in death by her husband Jack of 55 years in 2001. She is survived by her daughter Janell Stratton of Houston, her son Randy Watts and wife Stella of Alpine, her grandchildren Samuel Stratton, Chris Watts, Victor Vega, and Destiny Gonzales.
A private memorial was held on May 11 at the Van Horn cemetery. She will be greatly missed.
