Thomas N. Mendoza

Thomas N. Mendoza, 65, entered into eternal peace on Thursday May 18 in El Paso.  Thomas was born on April 14, 1952 in Van Horn and was the son of late Juan and Sara Mendoza. Thomas loved music, and loved to sing he was a very kind and gentle soul he had a loving and generous heart and was always giving to others. 

He is survived by his wife of 28 years, Rosemary Rivera his sons Thomas Mendoza, Jr and Michael Jason Mendoza and daughter Valerie Mendoza, Veloris Munoz and Denise Unchurch..  He had 12 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren.

Sisters Martha Talavera, Aurora Calderon and Josefina Garcia,  and (late) brother Jim Mendoza.

Emilio G. Rodriguez

Bridgeport ~ Emilio G. Rodriguez 87, a retired plant operator for Hanson, went to be with our Lord Sunday, May 28, 2017 in Fort Worth.

Mass of Christian burial was held Friday, June 2, 2017 at St. John the Baptizer Catholic Church in Bridgeport with burial in East Bridgeport Cemetery.

Rev. Thomas Dsouza officiated. Pallbearers included Jeremy Rodriguez, Samual Rodriguez, Paul Hamblin, Bill Hamblin, Matt Spencer, and Joshua Bridwell, and Andrew Simecek. Honorary pallbearers were Elizabeth Rodriguez, Bethany Rodriguez, Lisette Rodriguez, Stephanie Spencer, and Iliana Rodriguez.

Emilio was born on June 1, 1929 to Aus and Isidora (Gonzales) Rodriguez in Van Horn, Texas. He was united in marriage to Aurora “Rita” Escajeda on May 29, 1948 in Van Horn. Emilio retired from Gifford Hill (Hanson) rock quarry as plant operator. He was a member of the St. John the Baptizer Catholic Church.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Rita Rodriguez; his daughter, Eva Rodriguez; his son, Sammy Rodriguez; his granddaughter, Tiffany Lee Elizondo; his sisters, Lily Foster, and Margarita Cortez; his brother, Aus Rodriguez Jr..

Those left behind to cherish his memory are his sons, Emilio Rodriguez Jr. and wife Karen of Red Oak, Jimmy Rodriguez and wife Irene of Dallas, Bobby Rodriguez and wife Corina of Bridgeport; his daughter, Eva Simecek and husband Joe of Duncanville; his grandchildren, Elizabeth and Bethany Rodriguez, James and Lisette Rodriguez, Stephanie Spencer and husband Matt, Andrew Simecek, Jeremy Rodriguez and wife Hannah, Robert, Iliana, and Samuel Rodriguez; his sisters, Lisa Bonilla, and Becky Reyes; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and a host of friends.
