Obituary – Stephanie Bernice Russell

Stephanie Bernice Russell, beloved wife, mother, grandmother and aunt, went to be with the Lord on July 08, in El Paso.

Stephanie was born on January 7, 1936 in Nebraska City, Nebraska to Stephen Beckner and Bernice McKay Beckner.  She attended the University of Nebraska in Omaha for two years.  She then met William (Bill) Edward Russell IV of Marfa and they were married November 6, 1958.  She and Bill resided in Van Horn for 34 years.  She was very active in her church all of her life and was a witness for Jesus in both word and deed.  She also volunteered her time and sewing talent to the Van Horn schools and community whenever called upon and she was a member of clubs and committees for the town.

She is preceded in death by her husband and survived by her children, William Edward Russell, V, Karen Kristine Russell Holmes and Cynthia Ann Russell Proctor; her grandchildren, Bailey Kristine Holmes, Kenna Brooke Holmes, Garrett Will Proctor, Rance McKay Proctor and Henleigh M’Lynn Proctor; and many nephews and nieces.

Graveside services will be held at 2:00 p.m., today, July 13 at the Marfa Cemetery, 211 W. San Antonio St., Marfa.  Reception after the graveside service will be held at First United Methodist Church fellowship hall, 118 W. Washington St., Marfa.  Flowers and memorials may be sent to the church.
