(Austin) The Texas Girls Coaches Association (TGCA) just completed its 65th Summer Clinic in Austin. The annual convention is for coaches, players, and administrators along with All-Star games in Volleyball, Basketball, and Softball and was a huge success. It also included recognition for All-Stars in Cross Country, Track & Field, and Cheerleading. The All-Star games and recognitions were broadcast live on K-MAC Sports (www.kmacsports.com) and are currently available for replay.
TGCA is announcing, through the success of the broadcasts of the All-Star games with over 13,000 viewers, it will team up with K-MAC Sports to bring additional spotlight coverage to each of the girls’ University Interscholastic League (UIL) state championships in Volleyball, Basketball, and Softball for the upcoming 2017-18 school year. Under the agreement, K-MAC Sports will bring additional coverage to the three UIL state championships with written stories, live interviews, and more via the most prevalent web-sites and social media. K-MAC Sports will not be broadcasting any of the state tournament games themselves.
Sam Tipton, Executive Director of the Texas Girls Coaches Association, stated, “The Texas Girls Coaches Association is proud to join forces with K-MAC Sports to promote girls’ athletics. The partnership will allow the coverage of girls’ sports to be taken to a higher level. This agreement allows TGCA to have a viable media outlet to further enhance the achievements of girls’ sports.”
“We are thrilled to grow our relationship with Texas high school girls’ sports and with TGCA,” KMAC Sports co-owner Chuck Licata added. “The (6) TGCA All-Star games broadcast, featuring incoming seniors, were viewed by over 13,000 viewers. K-MAC Sports also saw increased viewership of the UIL State Volleyball post-game press conferences last November. This shows there is a need and demand for increased coverage for girls’ athletics in Texas. With the support of TGCA, we are going to provide behind-the–scene stories about the players and communities that need to be told and publicized.
