Eagle Football

By Adrian Norman

The Van Horn Eagles will kickoff their 2017-2018 season on the road tonight with a matchup against the Tornillo Coyotes.  There are a lot of new faces on the team, and the Eagles look to top an area appearance form last season.  Despite losing players in all the skill positions, the young depth chart will allow the players to see valuable playing time.

Jr. QB David Corrales said, “I’m excited to get on the field and lead the Eagles this season.  We have been working hard and improving every practice.  The team chemistry is developing as we’re getting used to playing with each other.  Our goal this year is to do well in district play, and then make a run into the playoffs”

SR OL/DL Isaac Baeza said, “I’m very excited for this first game under the lights with my brothers, and ready to assume a leadership role.  We have been working hard for the past three weeks and improving in everything we do.  Our goal this year is to advance further into the playoffs than in the years prior.  If you’re not watching Eagle Football, you’re missing out.”

Kickoff time is slated for 7:30 MST at Coyote Stadium, and all fans are encouraged to make the trip to support the Eagles.  If you can’t make it to the game, you can keep up with all the action at
