Eagles end football season tomorrow

By Adrian Norman,  CCAISD

The Van Horn Eagles journeyed to Iraan last Friday to take on the Braves in a district match.  When the final buzzer sounded, the Eagles were defeated by a score of 60-0.  The loss eliminated any playoff hopes, and moved their record to 1-8, 0-3 in District.

The Eagles struggled to get into a rhythm on offense, and did not find the end zone in this contest.  The Braves exposed some holes in the Eagles’ defense, and were able to score 47 first half points.

Head Coach Brock Tyrrell said, “We came out and faced a very good opponent. Our young team gave it their best effort and gained a tremendous amount of experience this past week. They never gave up and battled until the game was over. That’s all I can ask of them. “

The Eagles will close out their season tomorrow here at home against Wink. The game will honor our local Veterans before the game, and it will also be Senior Night.  Let’s fill up the stands and cheer for our Eagles one last time, see you at the game.
