Eagles basketball includes Senior Night

By Coach Macyn Morriss, CCAISD

The Lady Eagles and Eagles basketball teams were in action against the McCamey Badgers Tuesday night. The seniors were recognized during our annual Senior Night program.

The Lady Eagles came out strong and played a great first half against the Lady Badgers. Their well-executed defense resulted in multiple steals that led to some easy points for the Lady Eagles. While the Lady Badgers closed the gap in the second half, the Lady Eagles fought until the end and came away with the victory! This win brings the Lady Eagles to a district finish of 6-4 and they now begin their journey through the playoffs. Playoff dates and times will be announced at the CCAISD Facebook page.

The JV Eagles played a good game against the Badgers and gave it their all, but eventually fell short.

The Varsity Eagles came out strong and took an early lead in the first quarter. The Eagles played a great defensive game against a tall McCamey team. Their team chemistry is coming along and they are playing well together. The Eagles continued to play well and worked hard until the final buzzer, making some great plays both defensively and offensively, but in the end, came up short of the victory. The Eagles are currently 4-4 in district play and are still in the running for a playoff spot.

The Eagles will be on the road to Wink this Friday, February 9 for another district matchup. The coaches appreciate our hometown support.
